If you are a developer who works on multiple websites that use Cloudflare, you may want to create a subaccount for each website, so that you can manage them separately and grant access to other users without compromising your main account.
A subaccount is a separate account that is linked to your main account and inherits some of its settings and features. You can create multiple subaccounts under your main account and assign different domains and users to each subaccount. This way, you can isolate your websites and control who can access and modify them.
To create a subaccount follow these steps:
- Log in to your main account and go to the Home page.
- Click on the drop-down menu next to your account name and select “Create Subaccount”.
- Enter a name for your subaccount and click “Create”.
- You will be redirected to the dashboard of your new subaccount. You can switch between your main account and your subaccounts by using the drop-down menu next to your account name.
- To add a domain to your subaccount, click on “Add site” and follow the instructions. You will need to change the nameservers of your domain to point to Cloudflare.
- To add a user to your subaccount, click on “Members” and then on “Invite members”. Enter the email address of the user you want to invite and select the role and permissions you want to grant them. The user will receive an email invitation to join your subaccount.
- To manage the settings and features of your subaccount, use the menu on the top of the dashboard. You can configure various options such as SSL/TLS, Firewall, Page Rules, Workers, etc.
By creating a subaccount in Cloudflare for each website you work on, you can enjoy the benefits of Cloudflare without compromising the security and privacy of your main account. You can also collaborate with other developers and clients more easily and efficiently.
